Klaus Meine è un cantante heavy metal tedesco, leader dei celebri Scorpions.
Biografia
Primi anni
Nasce il 25 maggio 1948 ad Hannover, in Germania, da padre giardiniere, Hugo, e da madre Erna. Inizia a cantare già all'età di tre anni. All'età di nove anni canta per la prima volta di fronte ad un pubblico di 500 persone.
A dodici anni riceve come regalo una chitarra, che impara subito a suonare. Durante l'università fonda vari gruppi, tra cui, nel 1966, i Copernicus, nei quali c'era anche Michael Schenker.
Il successo con gli Scorpions
Nel 1970 entra a far parte degli Scorpions, gruppo che lo portarà al successo, grazie allo stesso Michael Schenker, che lo propone come chitarrista al fratello Rudolf Schenker, fondatore della band, diventando in seguito cantante ufficiale.
Nel 1972 la band pubblica il suo primo album autoprodotto: Lonesome Crow. Dopo quell'anno pubblicano numerosissimi album che porteranno la band ad avere un successo mondiale altissimo.
Nel 1981, durante la registrazione del nuovo album Blackout, Meine, a seguito di alcune complicazioni alle corde vocali, è costretto a prendere un lungo periodo di pausa, i medici li consigliano anche di cambiare mestiere. Dopo alcune terapie e due interventi chirurgici, riacquista pienamente la voce, completando l'album, con seguente tour mondiale.
Al padre, morto nel 1997, dedica l'album Eye II Eye.
